Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros – Kisses Over Babylon

I really wish I had more time to write this but I literally have a million things to get done before the holiday weekend so this will be somewhat short. I heard Home a while back and thought it could easily take the title of best song this year but just never got around to posting it. Then I heard the rest of the album and started watching the 12-part feature length movie music these guys were putting together and had no choice but to mention it. The album is full of epic and ambitious song writing, messianic concepts and simply plain ol’ good music.

One of the many reasons I love Tarrentino movies is because of his ability to marry music and visuals in such powerful and meaningful ways.  Beirut’s La Llorona was the last “music video” that really inspired me this way and now Edward Sharp has taken it somewhere totally new. Like I said, wish I could write more but the day is jam packed so check out the album, watch the videos and enjoy.

Anytime. Yeah that’s hands down the best song on the album. Haven’t heard something that gives that feeling in a long time.
