Music is everybody’s possession. It’s only publishers who think that people own it.” – John Lennon
Lots of work to do on a Saturday so here’s a quick post for all the people who hate on sampling. Long story short Edwin Birdsong was so inspired by this beautiful girl’s figure that he felt compelled to write a song about it, Daft Punk sampled it and had all the kids dancing, The Whitest Boy Alive covered it and made it chill and Kanye sampled Daft Punk and gave to it to new generation. For some it’s either Peter Keating or Howard Roark, I like to think the best form of art comes from understanding the balance, enjoy.

peep – http://funkythunderstuff.blogspot.com , for a good remix and more!
One of the dopest posts I've read in a long time. Thanks.
have always loved all three songs.
In regards to the John Lennon quote……do you think he had a problem raking in all the dough from his part ownership of his music? Doubtful.
I don't think he was talking about money.
It's ironic you post a quote about music ownership on a blog that records it's name into the music itself. You don't have to make the music about you….Just sayin'.
It's not about us, it's about encouraging listeners to go out and support the artist.
Love the post and Whitest Boy Alive’s take on the sample. I actually didn’t know Daft Punk used a sample to begin with. I didn’t know I’d be learning music history today.
Ha thanks. You have to love the creativity from all parties. I’ll be doing some more post like this from now on so stick around.
