Gypsy & The Cat – Jona Vark

Gypsy & The Cat

The last time I heard these guys (June ’09) they were unsigned and while their label status may have changed, their track Jona Vark remains the hazy dream it was when I first heard it. I’ve read a million comparisons by now and I’m going to ignore each and everyone of them. I mean what’s the point? That’s like meeting a new girl/guy and constantly comparing them to your ex, you’ll never be able to appreciate that persons details and you’ll limit your own experience by suppressing your ability to realize something new.

I don’t like it unless it’s brand new…” – Rhymefest

We just had a snow storm in NYC so I immediately went for my proven defense against harsh weather and ugly scenery – summer music. If you haven’t noticed by now I love ambiguous fantasy themed lyrics, the more my imagination gets going the better and this song does the job perfectly. For those of you who still have to work this Monday morning, this one goes out to you, enjoy.

Reality is wrong. Dreams are for real.” – Tupac Shakur
