Dub Sonata just dropped a new EP called Bluntitled and yes it just became the soundtrack to our favorite counterculture holiday – happy 4-20 fools! The 5 song EP is an edgy, fun, dark, light, groovin’, psychedelic journey into the perception of marijuana in American culture…
I made Bluntitled with a certain crowd in mind. It’s not necessarily meant to be thought provoking music but at the same time there is a serious issue at hand that it touches on and even jokes about. Depending on what cuts through when you hear it, you might be laughing, shaking your head in disgust or grooving to the dubbed out drums and heavy bass line.”
I just saw The Book of Mormon last night and the way Dub describes this album reminds me of the genius approach Trey Parker and Matt Stone take to their art. It’s the way we here at EMPT feel and certainly the vibe I get from Dubs latest work of art. The issues are legit but you tackle them with three hundred and 60 degrees of panoramic perspective and maintain your objectivity at all times. It’s been a while since lounging on the Skidmore green on 4.20′s but this album is bringing back those vibes in full effect. Alright I gotta hit up the studio with The Oos & Ahhs but buy this sh%t on iTunes, play this all day today and spark up the feel good, enjoy.
