There’s absolutely nothing not to like about this song. I can’t say it any simpler than that.
Radioactive by Las Vegas 5-man band “Imagine Dragons” is an instant anthem for a worldwide revolution that’s recently gone viral. It’s a complete revolutionary masterpiece in every sense. The song starts off like a day in the hobbits shire, as fairies, elves, and other mystical creatures seem to be gathered around a lazy summer day strumming their ciàrsachs and chanting softly as the world experiences a brief moment of serenity. Then, out of nowhere, a nuclear dubstep bomb drops and the lyrics go ahead to explain the aftermath of a world that’s suddenly been altered all around us destroying the governments of society as we currently know them, with Imagine Dragons at the forefront like the Military Band for the New Age.
I’m waking up to ash and dust I wash my brow and I sweat my rust I’m breathing in the chemicals.. This is it, the apocalypse.”
Clearly entering a “New Age” the chorus plays like a chant that resonates in a concert of epic proportions much like Metallica’s 1991 Moscow performance of Enter Sandman in which it was estimated that 500,000 people were in attendance including 11,000 Russian soldiers to keep the ‘control’; I mean ― peace. Although the BPM’s on this are a lot slower, the drop is just as huge, the vocals are just as big and just as powerful making the lyrics super catchy, and leaving us with the overall notion that they will sound bigger than anything anyone has ever heard at a concert of similar magnitude.
They tell us that we are too young to make a difference. They like to keep us controlled in that manner, but the truth of the matter is that the youth and our rebellious ways of thinking are the only way things ever change. We are fearless so we don’t care so much about our own lives when the cause is for the greater benefit of humanity.

If Radoioactive can reach the commercial success that Enter Sandman did it will probably be just as big and just as innovative to another generation of young people that are heavily inspired and strongly moved by great music. Boasting a similar method to Metallica’s “wall of guitars” with strings supported by dubstep synths as well as the live concert feel provided by their recording methods, it should be relatively easy to transpose onto any stage both mentally and physically.
This song is pure intensity in every aspect and from any angle you choose to listen from.
