Fleetwood Mac – Dreams (Flight Facilities Remix)

Lazy Sundays call for timeless classics and Fleetwood Mac was, by far, one of the most influential bands in music history. The California soft-rock blues band became one of the greatest pop groups of all time. Listening to these lyrics makes one realize that you don’t find compositions like these nowadays. How many times have we felt like this, and how many of those do we not listen carefully to the sound of our loneliness?

“Now here you go again
You say you want your freedom
Well who am I to keep you down
It’s only right that you should
Play the way you feel it
But listen carefully to the sound
Of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat, drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering
What you had, And what you lost
And what you had, And what you lost”

This remix came about as an edit Flight Facilities created to play it at Paris Social Club for a 70’s party. The strings, piano and vocal at the beginning come from ‘The Lowbrows – Dream In The Desert (Flight Facilities Remix)’. This song can also be found with the title Flight Facilities – Dreams In The Edit by the way.

Although this song has been remixed and sampled countless times this must be the best remix I’ve heard -in my humble opinion- due to the fact that it is so true to the original yet complements it with  enough groove to dance all night long. While to vocal track stays untouched, most of the instruments have been nudged a bit so as to, as a whole, accomplish this tasteful rendition.

I have included a video of Fleetwood Mac giving a classic live performance of Dreams. Once you see it it’s easy to understand how they came to be a once-in-a-lifetime band.
