For today’s post, I tried to find the perfect balance of summer reminiscing and practicing what I preach by staying in the now. Just fresh from the West Coast, I instantly gravitated to some of the softer more acoustic choices available to me in our EMPT box of sonic goodies. But then, this Le Crayon Remix of Peter & The Magician‘s ‘Memory’ presented its dance machine madness just in time, and managed to suck me into my now, which is currently back here in NYC, in Autumn, and in the month of October.
Autumn, and October, represent fashion, vibrant color tones, and evenings that take place much earlier and last a hell of a lot longer. For me, Autumn is also best enjoyed at night, when the beautiful people have their most fashionable threads on and everyone looks as if they just walked out of an issue of Vogue. It’s the time when NYC’s inhabitants are at their finest, and a time that symbolizes a new beginning. You see, when the seasons change here in NYC, we are forced to change our wardrobe, and with these wardrobe changes we constantly feel like brand new versions of ourselves in doing so.
Anyhow, this Le Crayon Remix is just fitting for the season that is here upon us—now. We head out in the dark, we drink to the swarm of holidays coming our way, we dance the nights away with our friends, and we feel good in making these Memory‘s that last us lifetimes.
