Cherish your solitude. Take trains by yourself to places you have never been. Sleep out alone under the stars. Learn how to drive a stick shift. Go so far away that you stop being afraid of not coming back. Say no when you don’t want to do something. Say yes if your instincts are strong, even if everyone around you disagrees. Decide whether you want to be liked or admired. Decide if fitting in is more important than finding out what you’re doing here. Believe in kissing.”

A perfect day would embody all these things. It would consist of a trip to an unknown territory, somewhere I have never even heard of. On this trip there would be no formal roads, I would have no bag with me to carry any possessions, and, I would meet a large group of people that I would have to convince to change the world as we know it with me. There would be stars at night but no memory of things once cherished and long gone. There would be no anxiety of the future, only a deep-rooted passion for saving it…
“Perfect Day” is a song by American hip hop recording artist Jim Jones released as the lead single from his fifth studio album Capo. The song features American rappers/producers Chink Santana and LOGiC and was produced by the latter. The single is a mental escape from our everyday norms as Jim Jones himself deviated from his daily music routines to give us something that he knew would instantly be looked at as specifically cultivated for the “pop culture” rather than the streets solely. The video for it was dedicated to cancer patients or anyone affected by cancer, and to the soldiers at war.
You are wherever your mind is. You cannot exist in this space, right here, if your mind is elsewhere. Basically, you cannot exist anywhere else but in those chimerical parts of your mind, which means that for those moments that you are there, you are dead here. Don’t focus on the things that keep you anywhere but here. Forget the past, be indifferent to the future, but, make today, and every single day after, a perfect day. You do this by never being afraid to be with just yourself again. Find yourself—it is the only way to ensure that every day to come will be: perfect.
we could be anywhere in the world but we right here.”
