Jake Troth – Material Things

Here’s something fresh that I bought on iTunes today.  I came across this record through it’s producer Alex Goose, who I have been following since he released his beat submissions for the Blueprint 3 in the form of a mixtape, Blueprint 3 Outtakes. On Material Things, he and new artist Jake Troth bring forth a brilliant two minute record discussing the lure of material possessions. The harmonies are soothing, the claps are stacked to perfection, and the whistling hook is as catchy as they come.  Get into a brand new sound and support the single. Cha-ching Cha-ching.

Model chick, thick coat, bottle hips, used to be a hostess, now she’s only hosing me.”

Alex Goose – Dear Winter

Sean Mattison Is In The Building aka Sean Mattison posted a link on my Facebook page a few months ago telling me to check out the Alex Goose mixtape The Blueprint 3 Outtakes. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the original BP3 so I looked over it until a recent post on KevinCaseyMusic.com reminded again and I ran into this great instrumental called Dear Winter. As the story goes an A&R from Rocafella found Goose on my space and asked him to submit tracks for the album. Goose did exactly that but Jay didn’t connect with any of his tracks. And so the producers dilemma still holds but instead of dwelling on the missed shot Goose decided to take matters into his own hands and released the unplaced beats as an instrumental album, he has over 10,000 downloads to date. Once again, the power of keeping it moving

I’m still seaside so these instrumentals fit the scenery to perfection. Goose’s sophisticated palate for the simple and classic is right up my alley. I’m looking forward to his future projects. We’re going to be releasing our Dear Summer mixtape in about a week so this is a nice little foreshadow, enjoy.
