Inspired by the mythical power of the full moon and the famous parties of Southeast Asia, MATTE’s Full Moon develops this narrative with New York’s distinct culture and edge – a transcendental beach party in the center of New York Harbor with sounds, art and food from a carefully curated lineup of musicians, DJs, artists, and chefs.

Full Moon 2013 is New York’s not-to-be-missed summer music event, blurring the line between festival and dance party. In 2012, Full Moon was attended by over 2,500 of New York’s finest and written up by titles such as Bullett Magazine, NY Mag and VICE.

This year, The Beach at Governors Island serves as an urban paradise for Full Moon – a sunset over the Statue of Liberty, a moonrise over Lower Manhattan.

Breakbot – Another Dawn (Feat. Irfane)

“Disco Jesus” strikes again with a slow, steady and sensual tune. It’s simply a panty dropper in the fullest sense of the term that features the unflappable Irfane crooning away. Breakbot‘s full length, debut album By Your Side drops in just five days courtesy of Ed Banger, and it’s definitely music worth paying for.

I and all those with refined, lush pallets love Breakbot because he makes the happiest music this side of Daft Punk. Whether you’re hung over and running on an hour of sleep or just got bad news from the doctor (Root Canal bad), the dude’s music is an instantaneous smile. To quote the single, Thibaut Berland’s production combined with Irfane‘s voice is just unequivocally right when everything is wrong.

Based on the three leaked tracks, I have a strong feeling that the aforementioned and impending album will see a fair share of comparisons to Discovery, and deservedly so. A smooth, eloquent fusion of soul and disco, By Your Side also clearly tells a love story with a very unique and unanimously amazing sound.

The Frenchman continues to represent everything that’s right in electronic music, and it’s really exciting to see an artist who’s been at the brink of perfection for quite some time to put it all together and launch himself to stardom. Because in a day and age when so much mainstream music has gone horribly wrong, Breakbot makes everything right.

Breakbot – One Out of Two (feat. Irfane)(Oliver Remix)

Love on a Saturday is all you need for the weekend. Breakbot shows us time and time again the nature of that honest devotion. Irfane’s vocals ooze head-over-heels affection and pedestal-building adoration.

I’ve been having a dream
And in it, I am just a machine
And only she has the potion that can give back emotion
To the meaningless thing I’m becoming

She’s every image that could ever be seen
She’s in the air, if you know what I mean.”

Oliver shakes some of the disco out and injects a little oomph into the bass. The result is sublime and drives smoothly alongside Irfane’s earnest. Uplifting and powerfully innocent, the sound is true to Breakbot’s form. It’s a feel-good track fit for dancing with the one that knows you best. Hold hands, spin each other around and enjoy your weekend.

Le Miel du Mois by Steph Lund: Avril 2011

I got an email from one of our readers telling me about a site that flat out ripped off the entire EMPT style, I mean we’re talking a straight bite here. I have no problem with people borrowing from us but completely stealing our names, concepts and vibe doesn’t make any sense to me. EMPT is a complete reflection of me and my friends and I won’t sit here and watch people pose as us –

You gotta see what I’ve seen, look where I’ve looked
Touch what I’ve reached, and take what I’ve took
You gotta go where I’ve gone, walked where I’ve walked
To get where I’m at to speak what I talk… – Beanie Sigel (The Truth)

I won’t say much about this but be yourself dude, think of your own ideas – if you want to use our stuff ask us and we’ll collaborate but don’t flat out steal, we love you but that’s just corny. We put a lot of heart into EMPT and that’s something you can’t duplicate. Take the time to do the same thing and it will get your site a lot further because in the end –

Biters can’t come near…” – Nas (Halftime, Illmatic)

Anyways, I’m a little taken by this so I’ll let Steph introduce yet another wonderful installment and my favorite mixtape in the entire world –

I’ve been lucky to have traveled a bit lately and had a lot of time to walk and just think and listen to both new and old. There’s a lot of electro-inspired tracks in this mix, but on the slower side of things- tracks I’ve listened to in my recent trips to Paris and London, walking alongside the grey skies and dim-colored collages. This isn’t a fast mix, it’s a much slower ride, getting ready for spring. It’s not quite here yet, but its coming…”

Aeroplane – Witout Lies (Breakbot & Black Van Remix)

I like new thoughts and Aeroplanes new single is certainly not your conventional point of view on lies. I’m all about putting on a show and adding theatrics to anything I do so I get what they mean. However, some people aren’t so open to loose interpretations of words, especially not of words that have negative connotations so I expect this song to have it’s fair share of haters…

There wouldn’t be any artists, no jugglers or tightrope walkers.
Without Lies, in my eyes life would be straight up sad.
A bit of sun to melt the ice flow, a good disguise to start the show
Without Lies, in my eyes life would be straight up grey
When I eat cake, I prefer the cherry

Changing the scenes different faces,
Another costume changing places
Without Lies, in my eyes life would be pretty boring
We wouldn’t be great performers, we’d watch the time pass us over
Without lies, in my eyes life would be pretty bad

In the champagne I prefer the bubbles
A bit of sun to melt the ice flow, A good disguise to start the show
Without lies, in my eyes life would be straight up grey
When I eat cake, I prefer the cherry, I prefer the cherry, I prefer the cherry…

Once again, great lyrics which haven’t found their way to the internet so we wrote them out ourselves. I can’t figure out what Sky Ferreira says in the first line so if anyone knows leave it in the comments and I’ll add it on, enjoy.

Breakbot – Baby I’m Yours (Feat. Ifane) (Official Video)

From original post

If there’s one guy to watch out for right it’s Breakbot. The Frenchman was picked up by Ed Banger (Justice, Mr. Oizo, Sebastien, etc) who released his EP Baby I’m Yours just two days ago. I can literally spend the rest of the week posting Breakbot remixes and I don’t think anyone would mind. His sound is pure class and pleases without the need for high flying technology and overbearing drums. It’s laid back and feel good but never sleepy, the type space age music you play when you have a P.Y.T. over and want have some drinks in style before hitting the city lights…

You can’t even drink Cristal on this one, you gotta drink Cristaal.
Buy some red wine, a little Gocha 9-7.” – Jay-Z (Excuse Me Miss, 2002)

Unfortunately, the music at the Boom Boom Room hasn’t been quite on point the last few times I’ve been there but if it we’re I’d expect to hear Breakbot in heavy rotation. If fact, the whole city could use some Breakbot, looks like it’s time to start taking this Le DJ things a little more serious, enjoy.

Sneaky Sound System – When We Were Young (Breakbot Remix)

I’m in the middle of reading George Orwell’s 1984 which is an incredible book but isn’t helping my obsession and paranoia about the lack of mental freedom and individuality in this world. I mean let’s face it, with companies like google learning every nuance of our personalities, analyzing every single email we get, guiding our taste and so on it’s starting to get a little creepy.

It drops deep, deep as it does in my breath, I never sleep cause sleep is the cousin of death.”

An I’m in a small town hideout in California and it’s going to be 94 degrees today, this is probably as close to fantasy as you can get. I can only think about that type of stuff in passing because it does us no good to focus on what’s wrong, the right thing to do is to focus on what needs to be done to fix it, there’s a big difference. Anyways, it’s just social science fiction after all and the latter mentality fits my environment better so I needed a song to compliment it and Breakbots remix of Sneaky Sound System’s When We Were Young was a no brainer. The Frenchie’s got the funky R&B, new disco, Space Age Bachelor Pad sound down to a T and I can’t get enough of it. This track was made for cold chillin’ so to all the girls in bikini’s at some poolside or beach somewhere this one’s for you. enjoy.

Delicious Vinyl All-Stars – Whats Up Fatlip (Breakbot RMX Instrumental) [Feat. Fatlip]

Our Cinco de Mayo party is ready to go and we’ve been a hundred miles and running for the last two weeks so it’s time to kick back hit the coast. Thanks to the whole team, you guys are the best around, the sky’s the limit baby. I was supposed to wake up early and be on the road by now but I decided to go see The Twelves perform at Santo’s last night and as usual they didn’t go on till like 1:30 which wouldn’t be that bad if the DJ beforehand was as good. I was making my seaside playlist when I ran into this Breakbot gem that’s gone under the radar. The cut is from the Delicious label’s Rmxxology series and it’s one of the Frenchman’s best. Anyways, here’s a track sure to make these last hours of work a much more chilled out experience, enjoy.

Noctambule

And I daydream in school with faraway eyes…” – Journey

Appropriately the rain has stopped in the big city and the evening of Noctambule is upon us. The RSVP’s have been overwhelming and I can’t tell you how flattered we are to get such a big response. I grew up in show business and if there’s one thing I learned from an all too long childhood career was the value of putting on show. With Et Musique Pour Tous all I want to do is give you guys the absolute best quality, with our parties I wan’t to do the same, with all my businesses my main concern is caliber, the kind that’s never been seen before and I’ll continue in that pursuit till the fat lady sings. I was born for this business and I still get all my ideas from daydreams, this site was one of them, Noctambule was another and I want to thank you guys for letting me do it. I’ve lived a very special life thanks to show business and I’ll do everything I can do return the favor. EMPT is bigger then I will ever be able to realize because I still manage it from Riverplace, I still write everything myself and I still obsess everyday about making it better…

Still the beat bangs, still doing my thang
Since I left, ain’t too much changed, still…” Dr. Dre (Still Dre, 2001)

Ok now let’s get the party started early, Breakbot just released a fresh to death 5 minute minimix I’m posting in honor of tonights festivities. The tape is from the infamous Annie Mac show on BBC Radio 1 and is literally one of the tightest well mixed sets you’ll ever here. Thibaut Berland is on fire. I’ve figured out most of the tracks but I’m still missing a bunch, if anyone recognizes them check it with mine and leave a comment.

For all those coming out tonight, let’s f&*kin’ do this!

Kavinsky – Nightcall (Breakbot Remix)

One of the fathers of the dark cinematic electro movement is back with a new single and an all-star cast to back it up. Mixed by SebastiaN, produced by Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and featuring CSS’s Lovefoxx, the start-studded collaboration isn’t your typical high energy motion picture Kavinsky but it’s nice to have the Frenchie back in town. Unfortunately, I’m already late for a meeting with my lawyer so I can’t get into this as much as I’d like to but here are two great remixes of the track that were recently released, enjoy.
