I have no problem with people borrowing from us but completely stealing our names, concepts and vibe doesn’t make any sense to me. I like new thoughts and Aeroplanes new single is certainly not your conventional point of view on lies. I’m all about putting on a show and adding theatrics to anything I do so I get what they mean. However, some people aren’t so open to loose interpretations of words, especially not of words that have negative connotations so I expect this song to have it’s fair share of haters…

If there’s one guy to watch out for right it’s Breakbot. The Frenchman was picked up by Ed Banger (Justice, Mr. Oizo, Sebastien, etc) who released his EP Baby I’m Yours just two days ago. I can literally spend the rest of the week posting Breakbot remixes and I don’t think anyone would mind. His sound is pure class and pleases without the need for high flying technology and overbearing drums. It’s laid back and feel good but never sleepy, the type space age music you play when you have a P.Y.T. over and want have some drinks in style before hitting the city lights…

Unfortunately, the music at the Boom Boom Room hasn’t been quite on point the last few times I’ve been there but if it we’re I’d expect to hear Breakbot in heavy rotation. I mean let’s face it, with companies like google learning every nuance of our personalities, analyzing every single email we get, guiding our taste and so on it’s starting to get a little creepy.

An I’m in a small town hideout in California and it’s going to be 94 degrees today, this is probably as close to fantasy as you can get. I can only think about that type of stuff in passing because it does us no good to focus on what’s wrong, the right thing to do is to focus on what needs to be done to fix it, there’s a big difference. Anyways, it’s just social science fiction after all and the latter mentality fits my environment better so I needed a song to compliment it and Breakbots remix of Sneaky Sound System’s When We Were Young was a no brainer. The Frenchie’s got the funky R&B, new disco, Space Age Bachelor Pad sound down to a T and I can’t get enough of it. This track was made for cold chillin’ so to all the girls in bikini’s at some poolside or beach somewhere this one’s for you. enjoy.

Our Cinco de Mayo party is ready to go and we’ve been a hundred miles and running for the last two weeks so it’s time to kick back hit the coast. Thanks to the whole team, you guys are the best around, the sky’s the limit baby. I was supposed to wake up early and be on the road by now but I decided to go see The Twelves perform at Santo’s last night and as usual they didn’t go on till like 1:30 which wouldn’t be that bad if the DJ beforehand was as good. I was making my seaside playlist when I ran into this Breakbot gem that’s gone under the radar. The cut is from the Delicious label’s Rmxxology series and it’s one of the Frenchman’s best. Anyways, here’s a track sure to make these last hours of work a much more chilled out experience, enjoy.

Appropriately the rain has stopped in the big city and the evening of Noctambule is upon us. The RSVP’s have been overwhelming and I can’t tell you how flattered we are to get such a big response. I grew up in show business and if there’s one thing I learned from an all too long childhood career was the value of putting on show. With Et Musique Pour Tous all I want to do is give you guys the absolute best quality, with our parties I wan’t to do the same, with all my businesses my main concern is caliber, the kind that’s never been seen before and I’ll continue in that pursuit till the fat lady sings. Ok now let’s get the party started early, Breakbot just released a fresh to death 5 minute minimix I’m posting in honor of tonights festivities. The tape is from the infamous Annie Mac show on BBC Radio 1 and is literally one of the tightest well mixed sets you’ll ever here. Thibaut Berland is on fire. Mixed by SebastiaN, produced by Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and featuring CSS’s Lovefoxx, the start-studded collaboration isn’t your typical high energy motion picture Kavinsky but it’s nice to have the Frenchie back in town. I was watching a bad ass movie called Ichi about a sexy blind girl who also happens to be a master Samurai on a journey to find her teacher.  The beutiful Ichi walks around trying to mind her business but keeps running into all these bad guys that force her to show her skills and kill them. Throughout the movie there are these flashbacks that show the girls horrible past and why she’s so focused on her journey.

Anyways, throughout the movie this lonesome girl barely talks, doesn’t care for money and seems to have this level of understanding few even know exist. Everywhere she goes people are marveled by her skill as a Sumurai, and on top of all the she’s a musician. This is pretty much the girl of my dreams, too bad ass kicking noble-minded Kung-Fu girls only exist in the movies. Anyways, this remix of So Light Is Her Footfall should have been the closing credits or something, the songs lyrics depict a similar girl who also moves in darkness and mystery and it couldn’t be more fitting, enjoy.

The concept of control is a funny thing mainly because we never really have it. Coincidentally, I’m a strong fond believer in creating your own destiny in all aspects of life. Be it love, your career, you name it, taking creativity into your own hands in turn implies an aspect of control. Still my dream last night was about the one PYT who sometimes makes me think otherwise and it was refreshing to feel something that I had no control over. So as much as my warpath requires planning, emotional control and fearless pursuit of the things I want, it’s nice to know the feeling is out there somewhere. Sébastien Tellier is the man. Growing up an entertainer and being lucky to live a certain life due to my chosen career makes it hard for me to relate to a lot of guys my age.  Too many aren’t as refined and creative as I think men should be but Mr. Tellier, I like the way this dude operates.

I’ll also use this moment to thank a very select few beautiful girls for making that fantasy a reality for me time and time again – you are appreciated.  I have a vivid imagination and could go on with the fantasy thing for days but for the sake of this music blog I’ll talk about the awesome remix of Roche by French remixer/producer Breakbot.

Roche is from Tellier’s third studio album, Sexuality, which was produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (Daft Punk).

It’s very electronic and like intellectual R&B, although not in the same way that Beyoncé or Justin Timberlake are R&B.” Tellier also stated “I wanted to make music that would sexually excite people in an Italian or Latin sense of sexual music; the big seducer with the broken heart… I tried to keep vulgarity away from sex and my music.”

Like I said, I like the way this dude operates. Breakbot is signed to French electronic music label Ed Banger and has been known for his own productions as well as remixes for artist like Royksopp, Justice, Pnau and countless others. This remix is fantastic, from a production standpoint it accomplishes what most songs dream of by being simple yet engaging and entertaining. From an experience standpoint, I’m going to a fashion party tomorrow and I couldn’t think of a better soundtrack for such events, Space Age Bachelor Pad Music at it’s best, enjoy.

Sébastien Tellier – Roche (Breakbot Remix)

Apparently it’s July, welcome. A lot happened for us in June, we had the most traffic EMPT had ever seen and got shut down in the same month. Our diabolical hosting company Gisol Inc. stole our website and content so we’ve had to rebuild from scratch – no easy task. But atlas there is light at the end of the tunnel and what could be more suitable to celebrate our return then announcing the July version of Steph Lund’s beloved Le Miel du Mois! With that said, here is an excerpt from Steph hinting at the masterminding that helps create this tape:

Le Miel du Mois: Juillet: With the constant rain in June and thinking about the intense heat on its way, this mix reflects the restlessness of summer.
Spotlight Track: The last track is from Paris based artist Three Leaves and a Head – a remix of Radiohead’s Reckoner, off the In Rainbows album. I first heard of Three Leaves and a Head from We All Want Someone To Shout For.
Remixes of Radiohead are a bit touchy for me, because I don’t see how most tracks can improve, however, these subtle enhances Three Leaves and a Head accomplished are really beautiful and a perfect way to end this mix.
