EMPT Classic: Deadmau5 – Raise Your Weapon (Madeon Extended Remix)

Seeing as it is May I thought this would be an appropriate classic to reminisce on.  As Summer approaches our bodies have an urge to slow down and relax but being a New Yorker we have a totally different way of what slowing down means.  There is no slowing down! Things only become more exciting and vibrant, so why slow down?!  DONT..Instead play your music really loud, have a drink during lunch and let loose but don’t slow down.

Re-Enjoy!

_______________

My red-eye flight got delayed 4 hours Monday night, there was an endless supply of crying babies everywhere I went and the lady sitting next to me was wearing dirty hospital scrubs on the plane. What are people thinking? I guess after an amazing weekend like that something had to go wrong. Anyways, I laid back in the cut yesterday to recover and now I’m back in action. It was good while it lasted but I’m so happy to be back in the big apple. I feel like a lot of places try to be a lot of things that New York is naturally

Here I am again in the city
With a fist full of dollars and baby you better believe:

I’m back! Back in the New York groove…” – Hello

Madeon, the 16 year old producer from France is absolutely smashing it these days. Pete Tong recently played his Raise Your Weapon remix on Radio One and his version of Que Veux Tuhas been everywhere and back. By the way this isn’t a bootleg, it’s an official remix released on Mau5trap so I’d say Madeon is doing pretty good as far as 16 year olds go. What’s his formula for success? It’s very simple, create and release great music and the rest will follow. If you’re a young artists pay close attention to this blueprint because it’s the only one that matters these days. I talk to a lot of older people in the music industry who are full of pessimism and don’t really understand the power of our generation, how we communicate and how we consume. Madeon is 16, he made a few remixes, probably didn’t make a dime from it but thanks for blogs and websites he got attention and now he’s in Deadmau5’s circle. I can name 15 other artists how have done the same in a heartbeat. This track is great and Madeon’s story is an inspiration to all of us. That said, I have to go work on my own story but here’s a mid-week banger to keep you going, enjoy.

Morgan Page & Deadmau5 – Longest Road (Embus E-Remix)

Normally I would post something like this towards the evening but I want it to be something you all put on repeat for the rest of the day resinating through your vains and then hopefully by tonight the permanent feeling that you will have is that the war is over.

Before I get deep I just want to say, Fire!.. This track is Pure Fire, the way the drums break, Morgan Page’s sweet vocals, two major components that catch my attention right away and I was immediately all smiles and moving my body with my eyes shut tight upon hearing this track.  For me this track is like a battle that is at the end of it’s settlement, going separate ways or finally settling on an agreement, sometimes that agreement might just be with yourselves and that’s one way to conquer the battle, shows strength, power and love.  This track definitely takes me into a euphoria of all the different meanings of love be it beautiful or harsh.

If you are so frequently in love
If you prefer it all to me then my love
You go down the longest road to nowhere
You pull it apart and you’re just left there.”

This track is all about energy, you feel it immediately and when Deadmau5 is concerned he is all about creating the sounds that will make you feel energies that you didn’t know you could feel.  These lyrics are powerful as well, sometimes you love so much but you don’t get it back because it’s easy for the other person or people or family to feed off of it and then give it back because love can be really heavy and not everyone wants that load.  Especially because what most people do not realize is that love is the creator of all emotions and feelings..When you feel hate it comes from love, jealousy comes from love, happiness, greed, strength, pride, and so on and so forth, understanding all these emotions is half the battle.

Don’t be scared of all the different feelings and love for that matter, and try not to be in a constant battle with yourself, there is always a way to meet half way or just part ways completely and move on, don’t let anything weaken you, it’s not worth it, the only person in control of your energies and feelings is you.

I think this track will let you float peacefully into an amazing Saturday night, Enjoy!!

Deadmau5 – HR 8938 Cephei

Deadmau5 has been killing it, is killing it and will be killing it for a long time. His record label Mau5trap is home to Skrillex, one of the most technically advanced producers I’ve heard in a long time. His production style is epic, dramatic, sophisticated and flat entertaining. It’s a raining day where I’m at and his latest release HR 8938 Cephei feels like the perfect soundtrack. Unfortuntely, I have to run so can’t talk it up as much as I would like to but hit play and zone out to this epic 10 minute masterpiece, enjoy.

Welcome to The Decade

I believe he’s too humble and shy to admit it, since it don’t need more attention than it already gets, but it was EMPT’s first birthday last november, n the sneaky site thought we wouldn’t notice. Properly set up with a spanking brand new server, EMPT has been bigger than ever, but smaller than it will be tomorrow.

So in honor to both the new year and our “EMPT is WE” philosophy, we write this post. I asked people from all over the globe to write a short review of their New Year’s eve experience in order to give you, the sine qua non of EMPT, a post lived by the people, written by the people and enjoyed by the people. Here is the result:

Daft Punk – Around The World (Kid Dub Remix)

Many of the people I emailed to write for this post replied the same thing: I didn’t do much on New Year’s. It was quite low key. Several messages along those lines lead to a personal epiphany: Are we finally reaching a moment in evolution where youngsters value the relaxed company of family and elderly relatives over a messy dressy tits-up celebration? Well, in my case, I’ve hit that point.
I’ve spent most of my “vacation” working my tiny penny-sized ass off for the epic cause that is our upcoming company. This meant I had less, if any time left to spend with my family. This being the case, I cancelled my trip to Acapunk (Acapulco for the layman) and decided to spend New Year’s with the family. A relaxed fire lit night with my grandmother and Co. has definitely been the most chilled celebration yet. Before my cousins dragged me out to a lush lounge party, that ended up being my cousin-in-law drinking me into a coma, I got a sober chance to warm up the heart beat by bobbing my head to what I believe is the best, if not the only, proper remix of a Daft Punk hit. Just when you thought Around The World could not get any better than their Alive version, in comes Kid Dub and drops his flapping fish. The dynamics of this song are damn straight crazy. I remember when I was leaving JFK airport, I was dancing my way across the terminal to this tune. Hope it has the same effect on the rest of the family.

As the clock ticked its skinny ruthless hand to twelve, my family and I shifted endlessly between two TV broadcasts: the official countdown from El Angel, Mexico City, and MTV2, showing the revolutionary 15 min. music video to Thriller. What a better way to end the year than to enjoy one of the King’s many gems! Well, in mexico, grandmother has shotgun over everything. So obviously, the final seconds focused on the official count down. Have it your way granny. In any case, ’twas an epic countdown all in all. Enjoy – JCOS, Cuernava, Mx.
