Afrobeta – Love Is Magic (DiscoTech Extended Remix)

Happy Thursday, everyone! I heard this song recently thanks to Hector and I have to say it’s been on my mind for a few days. I can’t stop thinking about it, playing it, listening to it, and smiling about it. I decided to wait until Thursday to post about it because I don’t think this is a Friday night banger, but I definitely want you guys to understand how much it resonates after the first listen. The thing about Friday night songs is that they’re always fun and they’re always part of a memory. But the downside is that sometimes we get caught up in the moment of fun and the song becomes a background rather than a focus. Which is totally absolutely one hundred percent fine! They both serve a purpose. But you understand why some songs deserve to be the focus, while others set a lovely background/soundtrack for the evening. If you haven’t noticed, I have a tendency to find Thursday jams. Maybe it’s because Thursday is my favorite day of the week, or because I always make an effort to listen to the best music on Thursday, before the haze of the weekend rush enters the picture.

I need you to believe I have nothing up my sleeve
Even if I disappear
I’ll always keep you in my focus
It’s true love not hocus pocus

I don’t want to write this post about love, despite that being the topic of this song. I find it so hard to write about love, it feels corny and not authentic. But I will say that it’s not coincidental that this song draws a connection between love and magic. But why? I leave that up to you to decipher.

Eminem – Crack A Bottle (DiscoTech Remix)

Hip Hop heads are going to kill me for saying this, but I like the DiscoTech Remix better than the original Dr. Dre version. There I said it, crucify me.

To be honest, I was never actually a fan of this song and I still don’t really like it but the remix randomly came up in my playlist and I found myself actually enjoying it, mostly due to the production. The sounds are relevent, the bass line is laid back and the beat bumps. No disrespect to the Dr. but DiscoTech did it on this one.
