Tru Thoughts, one of the most famous and well respected indie record labels released a compilation to celebrate their 10th anniversary. One of the cuts on the album was a cover of Snoops first single from Doggy Style Who Am I (What’s My Name. I love horns so when I heard what New Orleans group The Hot 8 Brass Band did to this song I literally jumped up in excitement. This is straight up New Orleans flavor, it’s drunk, it’s loose, real, feels extremely good and brings an completely new life to the Hip Hop classic.
