Tiga – What You Need (Chromeo Remix)

Here I am on iTunes spending all my money on music as usual when, lo and behold, I find a new Chromeo remix of Tiga’s What You Need, fresh. Last Gang Records released a deluxe version Ciao! on iTunes yesterday featuring this remix and two others by A-Track and Steve Aoki, the Chromeo version is definitely my favorite. The track is heavy on the bass and has the usual satisfaction guaranteed flare of any Chromeo dance joint.

I don’t really mind could sit here while you tell me about your diet.
Guess I’ll just be pondering if you’re the type that really loud at night.
I got what you need baby…

In the track Dave P is talking to a girl he already knows gets around the block but she’s making him go through the motions trying to put up the innocent front some girls like to play when they meet someone new.

All warfare is based on deception.” – Sun Tzu

I talk to G.O.V. all the time about the similarities of love and war and how girls are akin to incredible strategist when it comes to love. It’s a very interesting conversation and I’d love to get into it but there’s too much to do but we’ll get into it soon, enjoy.

Tiga – Beep Beep Beep (Punks Jump Up Remix)

Punks Jump Up

I was at a party at the Tribeca Loft’s last night and I literally heard every song I’ve ever posted here played in successively. On top of that, the drinks were courtesy of Cognac Tesseron and let me tell you my friends, music is quite a different experience when you have 25 year old Cognac in your system. All that and a flock of elegantly dressed girls, I was in heaven.

That said, I thought to post something for the DJ’s by DJ’s to say thanks to the heads that took care of the music last night. Punks Jump Up are a producer/DJ team from East London known some seriously high energy remixes, my favorite being their rendition of Lykke Li’s Breaking It Up. Anyways, I’m running late as usual so here’s the some Punks Jump Up for your Thursday morning, enjoy.

The Twelfth Hour

The Twelves

Will someone please explain to me the phenomenon that is time while at work? Doesn’t it feel like right before you get to work time is flying and you can’t move fast enough but the second you sit down it’s like you go into some alternate world and it takes an hour for 5 minutes to pass. Work sucks huh? You know what, I really like the concept of that new Bruce Willis movie. We should have robots that represent us at work while we do important things like thinking of more ways to use robots and not do anything. That probably won’t happen today so I’ve got a little something to help you day dream and procrastinate more than you already do…

The Twelves released a new 60 minute mixtape two days ago and I think my friend Ben’s facebook message describes it best: “new 12s mixtape = predictable amazingness.”  This is the followup to their previous mixtape Episode II, which I never got around to posting but will in the next week or so.  I’ve been listening to this all morning and it rocks, there’s really nothing else to say.  These guys just get it when it comes to song selection and production. The transitions from song to song are seamless, the mash-ups and remixes are top notch and the overall flow and feel is energetic and entertaining all throughout.  it’s quite good.
