If you walked inside Asia de Cuba right now at the Mondrian you would see a bunch of a suit wearing old guys and gals talking business, a table of Frenchmen talking about the party last night, some prissy waiters and then me on my laptop drinking OJ wearing some big ass headphones listening to Spank Rock and blogging on EMPT…
I’m that new arrival, you’re the key to my space age survival. I’m that rebel musician, studying sound pays for the tuition…”
I dedicate this song to all the bands who continue to push the envelop, all the thinkers who ignore boundaries and definitions, and to all the people who understand the limitless nature of things. It’s a lot of those bands that make EMPT possible and I wanted to thank you for thinking freely and giving us the new. I say that because I’ve had some conversations recently with people about our endless potential to create is and the response has usually been in the form of one limit or another. Everything around us, from the computer you’re using to read this to the chair your sitting on all started from a thought, which means that anything else is possible. Napolean Hill coined the phrase Thoughts Are Things and I couldn’t agree more. There are people that say humans weren’t meant to fly, but take a look at what people are doing with Wing Suits and you might quickly change your mind.
It takes a lot of unlearning to realize the true power of our creative nature but I think it’s something to sit down and consider. Are minds are a lot more capable than the world gives us credit for. Think about it, when you were little you don’t really ask someone to teach you how to talk, you just saw people doing it and did it. Yet as we get older we’re taught to rely on school and all sorts of systems to make us capable. The truth is that everything we want or want to be we already are, we just have to attract and manifest it. You don’t need anyone to validate you, you don’t need anyone to approve it, you are what you want to be and that’s it. Think about it, every system of approval or validation was man made so be a man/women and make your own, enjoy.
