This is an protest song about all the rules and formalities that have become synonymous with partying these days, especially when it comes to letting go an dancing. The guys from Ou Est are tired of people holding back when they’re dancing and in turn stopping them from having fun. They’re so frustrated that they’ve given up on trying to be nice…
A simple crowd makes a move in on my space
I’m lashing out
I’m crashing down
All of the people in my way
I’m getting all of these objects from this place
This place is ruined been affected
After all the time i paid…”
This all comes back to the severe poser epidemic taking over America and the boys from Camden want nothing to do with it. I feel sympathy for people who care about what other people think to the point that it controls their individuality and expression. Unless you’re some cold monster there’s truly no need to pretend in any situation, the lies will inevitably come down on you. The moral of the story is there’s no need to be a charlatan, just be yourself because contrary to insecure opinion people will love you for it, enjoy.
Stop!
Well I’ll just dance the way i feel
Stop breathing!
Imagine none of this is real…
