The Drums – Me & The Moon (Clock Opera Remix)

The last time I posted a song by The Drums was back in 2009 when they released their Summertime! EP and though little mention has been made we’ve never stopped diggin’ the vintage style. Since then the trio has gained some serious recognition and just about mastered the reverb heavy post punk / indie pop sound. The simplicity of their lyrics, the generally light hearted approach production and their nostalgic Brit rock references make these guys very hard to pass up.

The original Me & The Moon sounds like something straight out of an 80’s teen flick. The way they capture that emotion and authenticity while never taking things too serious is a very mature approach greatly appreciated on this end. The recent Clock Opera remix holds true to this style while bringing it up to date in the best of ways. Clock Opera is one of the best capturing mixed feelings in music. His use of arpegios give his productions a very chill dreamlike quality perfect for zoning out on days like this. Speaking of zoning, its hard to focus with all this football going on so I’ll be signing off now. Can’t think of a better song for this Sunday morning though, enjoy.
