Work Drugs – Rad Racer

Paying homage to late 80s Nintendo video game Rad Racer is a sure fire way to get the attention of about 99 percent of male 80’s babies.

Pushing 255 km/h on the Last Seaside Running level, start off riding in the night and finish off in the day –

What you know about that, what you know about that?
Hey I know all about that! – T.I. (What You Know)

I can’t remember how many hours I spent playing the extremely simple but entertaining game so thanks for bringing it back almost 20 years guys.

Thomas Crystal and Benjamin Louisiana are the guys behind Work Drugs. You haven’t heard of them because their brand spanking new but their self-proclaimed smooth-fi/sedated wave music is stirring up the blogosphere. Rad Racer is their 3rd release to date and it’s my favorite of the trio, though the three go together like milk and cookies so make sure to play it as a collection. I don’t know much about these guys but I like their mission statement,

Work Drugs makes music specifically for dancing, boating, yachting, sexting, and living.”

I also like their band name and have some ideas of what it means but I’ll keep that to myself. Alright, here’s some of that new new for your mind, enjoy.

I’m a rad racer, big city chaser
Running away with you tonight…”
