I was just going through my new submissions trying to find something to post and got completely lost in a world full of synths, robot voices, stutter effects, dream pads and very impressive technical productions. Then I landed on the new Strokes single Undercover of Darkness and it was like a breath of fresh air in the face of all the high flying technology. Everything has a place which is why it’s important to be yourself as an artist and Julian Casablanca is well aware of that fact. The new song is what you would expect from The Strokes, a no-frills well written, good feeling rock song. Nothing more, nothing less. Like the old idiom says, variety is the spice of life and that’s the beauty of being an artists and fan of music. There’s no need to limit your creativity to what’s supposedly happening. I mean if that’s what you’re feeling than why not but if your disposition is elsewhere run with that because somewhere out there a bunch of people feel the same way and would love to connect with you.
Anyways, the new Strokes album is due in March so stay tuned as well be sure to post something else from it in the next week or so when we get our copy, enjoy.
