Back in 2009 we thew a CMJ party with forthebeat featuring some rising stars in the indie world – We Have Band, X-Wife, Electric Tickle Machine, Sleigh Bells and Phantogram. Till this day it’s one of our favorite events and it’s no surprise all of those acts have gone on to do great things. Anyways, I was looking through my submissions today and found an RAC remix of Phatograms When I’m Small, a song first premiered on Steph Lunds September ’09 installment of Le Miel du Mois. All the bands were great live but Sarah absolutely crushed the performance of When I’m Small and RAC doesn’t make bad music so it was a no brainer.

I have no idea what the song is about but the instrumental was so strong on the original that it justified Sarah’s beautiful obscurity. The RAC team understands vibe better than most and they completely capture the energy of the lyrics while creating something completely new. They turn the song it into a chilled out banger that makes me think of 4 PM drinks on the Mondrian poolside. I think it’s been a month since I left the city and I’m starting to feel restless, time to start thinking about the summer travels. Alright, much to do today so kick back to this and let the get feelings roll, enjoy.
