Most of us live infatuated with the past, whether it be good or bad, we just can’t seem to let the past pass. It’s a weakness that makes a lot of sense though because the past is known, thus comfortable and for the most part pretty easy to understand. How does that expression go? Oh yeah, hindsight is 20/20. The present on the other hand is a lot more complicated because well, it’s happening live, not now but right now. Some people love the present and embrace it while others spend their present thinking about the past. Ever see a guy or a girl out at a bar acting all awkward for no reason? 9 out of 10 times is because they’re associating the present with the past. They got rejected before, a bad breakup recently, whatever it is they’re thinking about something that no longer exists. The balance of being in the moment while constantly creating a better future is one of the trickiest puzzles to solve. The moment requires your undivided attention, it doesn’t need you thinking about outcomes and results although in order to achieve goals those clearly have to be in the picture. Like the lyrics of this song say – the past is forever gone, so good or bad, the past just doesn’t matter. Your current situation is a result of your past thinking, take a moment to think about that because it means that your future is going to be a direct result of your thinking now – you’re creating the future right now!
Anyways, the concept of time in general fascinates me and this is an awesome remix by the C90s. I love dance music with good lyrics, you get to move and satisfy your intellectual appetite at the same time, best of both worlds.
