Haim is so interesting to me, something about these 3 sisters and their vocals draw me in. Not because of the normal reasons a voice might draw you in, whispery, sultry, beautiful, none of these apply. Their vocals are fun, unique, and I don’t know if it’s just me but I hear a little bit of a male flare in the vocals which I think is so sexy, I guess you could say they kind of remind me of Stevie Nicks a little bit, that interesting voice that has you leaning closer and closer, wondering how did they just produce that sounds. I love hearing something refreshing like this group of gals, oh ya and a guy, lets not forget the sisters good friend and drummer Dash Hutton.
There are so many live great songs in Haim’s music, from their funky guitar, to a bursting energy of happy drums that immediately gets your mood in the perfect balance of calm and alive. It would be so amazing to be able to have this creative energy with your siblings, you can tell in their music how much close energy and trust they all have together, unfortunately most of us with siblings all have different dreams and aspirations in life.
This is the perfect funky sort of love song that makes you want to smile more then cry, the lyrics are young and not overbearing. I think it’s ok to keep chasing what you love and who you want as long as you feel good about it and the person your chasing is secretly enjoying it as well, you get what I am saying!?
