Monday is full of surprises isn’t it!? Not always good surprises but today we have an EMPT exclusive for you from the one and only Chris Carter who is always bringing us jams, never a disappointment! I think that we have all heard Angus & Julia’s track Big Jet Plane a time or two or more, the Australian brother and sister following in the footsteps of their parent who were a folk duo before these two were born. This track is kind of a sad story about dreaming about a world that is much bigger then the sludge you might be living in at that moment. I have always liked this track and I find myself always dreaming bigger when I listen to it.
I think Chris brings a bang to this track that gives it a feel like you are in the movie Tron, speeding down the lighted track towards whatever fantasy is driving you. I love that nothing gets taken away from this track, the string instruments and even the sad but determined feeling in the vocals, but what Chris gives it is more power and a more fast paced determination, creating less of a sadness. Chris speeds this jam up with some great effects and some kick that will surely have you wanting to leave work, jump in your car, pretend its Friday and speed toward whatever dream or fantasy is in your head right now.
