Similar to some of their other remixes (see their remix of Man on Fire by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros) this track exudes power and happiness. With a fist in the air and a foot on the ground ready to stomp, this track is a lovely addition to the Sunday line-up of heart warmers and chill vibes for many reasons. We’ve got the sing-along chorus that is hard to resist, adorable harmonies, and a clapping beat to keep us alive. With a subject matter that not only reminds us of summer, but takes us to the love that is San Francisco, it’s hard to imagine not smiling about this song.
The Mowgli’s are another lovely LA based band that exudes love and positivity. Their love for California is apparent in all of their music, and it blends beautifully with the likes of Little Daylight.
Today’s Sunday has been dedicated to happy productivity and travels. And lots of tea time. I woke up twice today — once to see the sunrise, then once to actually wake up and start the day. I went to sleep pretty early last night and my body just felt that the sunrise was really important to see at around six in the suburbs of my family’s seaside home. The sight was one that deserved a mental snapshot, but not a real snapshot. There are certain sun activities that are for your eyes only, and this was one of them. I wasn’t fully awake but I was aware enough to realize that this was the first sunrise I had seen on my own accord — that is to say, not because I was just going to sleep at 7am after having a night on the town, or not because I had been awake all night finishing work, but because I had the luxury of just waking up to a beautiful thing. And that was priceless.
Make a cup of tea and get some work done, and throw this one on as a motivation maker or a reason to keep moving forward, let this be today’s closing thought. And tomorrow’s entrance to a new week.
