It’s impossible for a song not to make a good first impression when right from the beginning and for the first 30 seconds or so all you hear are epic horn instrumentation. The type that scores feature films and climatic scenes. The adlibs in between choruses resonate with gospel-like chants that pair to perfection with the orchestral horns. But deconstructing the song musically is futile when it has the power to move one in such a way. Sometimes I hear this song and the first thing that comes to mind is a club sandwich. It has a little bit of everything in it. Yet it makes sense and taste so good. Clocking at only 3 minutes long it still manages to leave one satisfied.
There’s not much around the interwebs about this song. Except that it was released 20 something days ago in advance and as the first single of the forthcoming Glacis Friendly Compilation. For this specific release that will see light of day on the 15th of this month, the boy and girl music-making duo from France Rise & Fool teamed up with TKNIK to create Little Rag Doll. If this is indeed the first single off that compilation, I can’t wait to see what else is in there.
“Whatever we might do, I’ll never be the same.”
