Glitch can be a tricky electronic sub-genre to conquer. Too many chops can lead to ear fatigue, quickly alienating the lsitener; too much repetition can lead to boredom. It’s nice to find an artist that has enough taste and foresight to do it right.
Cayce’s latest single “Curtis Punk”, is a series of continually interesting cuts. Each sample exists in its own frequency range. Much as the pointillists used dots of color to create a complete portrait, each of the samples add to the whole.
Another interesting track from Cayce is his remix of Bon Iver’s “Towers”, which shows off the subtler side of Cayce.
