I’m stoked about this track because it’s just as bad and anthemic as Bad Girls but without the obvious lyrical assertions. M.I.A. tells it like it is while getting our hearts moving and fists pumping in the air. I sat at my desk last week listening to this song and tried to remain calm, but I couldn’t. I love how intense this track is. As someone who goes about life in a less intense way, I have a lot of appreciation for those who bring the hardness with everything that they do. That goes for everyone, not just musicians. If we can’t get down with the people that are so totally different than we are, then we may as well just live in a shell. I’m glad M.I.A. is super fast and pumped in her music, because it’s a breath of fresh air. I don’t know why those were the words I chose to describe her, but it’s what I think of when I hear this song. Learn a lesson from me — this is not a song to be listened to while sitting at your desk at work. Get that sound on some speakers and live it up for the weekend!
